Farm Work Parties
Land Action added an event. Tue 1:30 PM · 3700 West St Oakland, CA
Originally posted October 23 at 7:44pm
After Nine Years the forces of real estate speculation have sunk their claws into the collective garden at 3700 West Street which was co-founded by Steven DeCaprio the founder of Land Action. This garden was the inspiration and test site for Land Action's micro-farm campaign which has faced intense resistance by the City of Oakland, Alameda County, and their crony speculators culminating in the prosecution of the Land Action 4.
The eviction is currently slated for tomorrow. However, there is a slim chance the court will grant a stay that morning.
There is a 120 foot tiny home on the site and an orchard. We would like to remove as much as possible and appreciate your help. Work as much or as little as you like, but be aware the Sheriff may show up at any time to ruin the party.
After this work party we will go to the HERE/THERE camp at the corner of Adeline and MLK to show solidarity as they fight an eviction as well. More info on that later event is here: https://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2017/10/22/18803820.php
