Land Action was founded in 2011  to reclaim our communities’ resources for sustainable land use that is inclusive and ecologically regenerative.

Founder Steven DeCaprio and Terese-Dawn Elkins established a proof-of-concept garden at the corner of 37th Street and West Street in West Oakland. This location is the inspiration for the micro-farming concept.
